New Portfolio Site
Monday, August 10, 2009 at 12:00 AM

Updated portfolio site in order to provide information pertaining to the work I have been doing and/or in charge of since I began my career. This new site is focused on myself, and my work. Previously I had the site up under the presumtion that it was its own company. Technically it is, and I do employ a variety of contractors to accomplish projects, but I am more interested in highlighting my work, albiet freelance or for one of the larger full-time companies I have worked for. I had previously taken slack for showing some sites in my portfolio without giving any information about the proper owner. I will do my best to highlight the owners of the intellectual property that I list amongst my portfolio.

The new site gave me the opportunity to create something completely outside of the Adobe realm which I am accustomed to. This is a 100% Visual Studio and Microsoft AJAX Toolkit application. I must say I have found a multiyude of downfalls in developing this site. Mainly the way that Visual Studio publishes web sites seems sloppy and unprofessional. I am used to creating Class libraries for my code behind that have real names and are easy to update. If I make a small change on this site I have to republish every file in order for the dll references to update. This will most likely be the last time I use Visual Studio alone for a web application but it was worth it to prove to myself that the Adobe-Microsoft Mix was the best way to work.
